The BNC - BNC cable with a length of 20 meters is considered the most common model compared to all others. This is primarily due to the fact that it is located in the middle, between the shortest and longest bay. 20 meters is exactly the length of the connecting cable, which often turns out to be with minimal excess. Why is such a cable so loved by installers and manufacturers of video surveillance kits? The answer is quite simple. It's hard to imagine an ordinary consumer being overlaid with a soldering station and crimping for a cable, laying out bnc connectors in a row and holding a wire stripper knife in his hands. It is much easier to imagine and thus meet the end user who has screwed 2 screws into the wall for the camera and connected the connector - connector system, without soldering, crimping and other professional installation tools. An undeniable advantage during installation is also the presence of only one wire that combines both the medium for transmitting video data and the medium for transmitting power.
On one side of the 20-meter bay there is a bnc connector and a "mom" power connector. A DVR and a power supply are connected to this side, whether it is a conventional switching power supply or an uninterruptible power supply with a rechargeable battery. On the other side there is also a bnc connector identical to the one on the opposite side. The only difference between the sides is in the power connectors. On the camera connection side, the power connector is of the "dad" type. When laying the cable, some rules must be taken into account. First of all, it is not necessary to lay this cable in the immediate vicinity of power lines. Also, if there is an excess of cable, it is not recommended to expose the excess to serious deformations.
